EXTERIOR
This LWB T4 Transporter was professionally converted from brand new by specialists Young Conversions Ltd, a firm founded in 1988 and still converting today! Finished in factory original Arctic White, (Code R902), the paintwork is incredibly well preserved and commensurate with the exceptionally low genuine 16,036 miles covered. A few light scratches, stone chips and touched-in markings are visible. The double glazed windows and elevating roof are fully intact and operate ingeniously. There is a chip in the windscreen and slight discolouration to the external plastic vents. Young Conversions Ltd decals remain fitted to the tailgate. Simply stunning and the perfect retro leisure vehicle capable for todays pursuits.

INTERIOR
The interior of this high specification Motor Home is fully lined and insulated with high quality Marley Sceptre herringbone flooring. Remaining original to the Young Conversions Ltd specification, the Islay kitchen in Ash veneer MDF with Formica work tops is spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. All equipment is functional but the heating system has not been tested. The Clubhouse Turnberry fabrics are pristine. Minimal usage allows all cooking and food storage facilities to remain in exceptional condition. The spotless cab area is reflective of the 16,036 miles covered and completely original even down to the Volkswagen BETA radio/cassette. The swivelling captain seats are as new and the steering wheel and gear knob display factory veins found only on super-low mileage vehicles. Craftsmanship is assured as this is not a kit supplied conversion but rather a full specification professional interior, ready for camping trips and fun days out!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The preferred and powerful five-cylinder AJT 2.5TDi engine displaces 2461cc and offers 87bhp with 195Nm of torque. The engine performance is more than substantial to allow for modern cruising capabilities and the extra torquey characteristics are perfect for effortless driving. The engine bay is very clean with factory build labels and stickers still present and engine fluids clean. The 5-speed manual transmission is tight and precise is you would expect from the super-low mileage.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted upgrade alloy wheels have never been refurbished with imperfections and aging to some areas. Matching high-load 195/70 R15C tyres replaced the originals in 2018 and have covered very few miles. The power assisted braking system features brand new discs and pads fitted all-round in April 2020 to install the highest confidence.

HISTORY FILE
This example was first registered on the 12th March 2001 by Hartwell Volkswagen in Cheshire. An invoice dated 26th February 2001 from Young Conversions Ltd confirms that this LWB T4 Transporter was converted from brand new to this full specification campervan. Young Conversions Ltd were founded in 1988 and remain in business today with further details of the company available here. The first owner, Mr Derek Hook, purchased the van brand new and subsequently paid a staggering £12,428.74 for the conversion as detailed on the invoice from Young Conversions Ltd which also lists the full specification. After ten years of ownership the campervan was passed to family member, Mr Paul Hook, and with just one other owner in-between the vehicle was purchased by Volkswagen collector, Mr Paul Willcock. Mr Willcock is very well known for his ongoing collection of prized show winning classic Volkswagen Beetles and Campervans and used this very vehicle for a European excursion.

The exceptionally low mileage of 16,036 miles is fully verified by every MOT certificate from the very first in 2004 and the full Volkswagen book pack and binder folder is complete with the service book. Absolutely all instructions, leaflets and brochures for the conversion have been kept along with a file of invoices and receipts including recent expenditure for tyres and a full genuine Volkswagen exhaust system. In April 2020 a documented full service, cambelt, injection pump belt, water pump and brake overhaul were completed. There are two sets of remote keys plus the original master key. The private registration number Y60 FLY is retained as a tongue-in-cheek gesture of the first owners belief, ‘why fly when you can camp?!’ Fast becoming highly collectable and very rare to find with such low mileage, this T4 Transporter is the perfect retro campervan.
