A UK Piaggio Vespa (PX) P 125 X 30 Anni’ Ultima Serie No: 411/1000 with 0.3 miles.

MODEL HISTORY
The Vespa PX was first presented in Milan in 1977 as the Nuova Linea (New Line) initially as the PX 125 X and PX 200 E, the latter E denoting Electronica for electronic ignition. The PX 150 X and PX80 followed shortly after. In 2007 production stopped and a final edition model was released called the PX 30 Anni’ Ultima Serie or last series. Available exclusively in Classic White, 1000 units were produced worldwide with just 150 destined for the UK market. Each bike came with a unique ‘Meeting Kit’ comprising of a limited-edition fly screen, luggage carrier in chrome and chrome wheels with vintage whitewall tyres. A spare wheel was included as standard and the return of the original PX 125 X badge made this edition uniquely exclusive. An individual numbered plaque was fixed above the glove compartment and retailers were instructed to issue the first owner with a certificate of guarantee with the unique limited edition series number to match that of the bike.

EQUIPMENT
Steel sheet metal construction with welded structural reinforcements, front suspension oscillating arm with helicoidal spring, hydraulic double effect single dampers front and rear, 12-volt electrics, capacitor discharge ignition (CDI), black long seat, 4-speed grip-shift transmission, horn, electric and kick-starter, two adjustable chrome mirrors, speedometer, odometer, turn signal switch, headlight switch, glovebox, spare wheel. EXTERIOR
Finished in the exclusive colour of Classic White, this preserved Vespa (PX) P 125 X 30 Anni’ is number 411/1000 of the Ultima Serie or last series. This example is one of just 150 UK units and has covered a genuine 0.3 miles from new and has never even seen fuel! A cosseted lifetime within a collection has seen this Vespa protected in complete factory original condition and every aspect of the bike is showroom fresh with all paintwork, rubbers, lights, trim pieces and badges in perfect order. The fragile paper labels and stickers applied as part of the factory PDI process remained attached. All vehicle identification markers, stampings and stickers are fully intact and the supplying dealer number plate remains fitted. The individual numbered plaque fixed above the glove compartment confirms the frame number to be within the correct range for this special edition which in turn corresponds with the certificate of guarantee. Perfect preservation of this true icon of Italian style and design.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The air-cooled 123.4cc single cylinder 2-stroke engine develops 12bhp and features CDI electronic ignition and Weber SI 20/20 D carburettor, enough to propel this scooter to 50mph (depending on the rider’s weight!). Everything down to the engine stamping, exhaust, 4-speed grip-shift transmission and even paper PDI labels and dabs are factory fresh and as new. The bike has been a display piece since new and has never even seen fuel, however the knowledgeable custodians have routinely turned the engine on the kick start to ensure free movement.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original chromium plated wheel rims in perfect unrestored condition with vintage whitewall tyres were part of the Meeting Kit supplied with the P 125 X 30 Anni’ Ultima Serie. The Golden Tyre 3.50-10 including the spare are unused with tyre nobbles still intact. A single 7.9in front disc and 5.9in expanding rear drum form the factory standard braking system for this edition and components still display the yellow PDI dabs.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by AR Motorcycles of Lowestoft on the 1st March 2008, this Piaggio Vespa (PX) P 125 X 30 Anni’ Ultima Serie is number 411/1000 of the last series Vespa PX models produced worldwide and indeed one of only 150 units supplied to the UK. The first owner purchased three identical examples and kept them within his collection before his friend convinced him to let go of one so he could have it himself, where it sat in a small yet eclectic collection alongside a Triumph Stag, Porsche 911 and Vauxhall Cavalier!

The history file consists of the original handbook, service and guarantee book, dealership point of sale literature and of course the vital certificate of guarantee. Furthermore, the shipment docket and checklist have been kept along with a Memo from Piaggio Marketing Manager, Julia Lo Presti, issuing clear instructions to dealers regarding how the certificate of guarantee should be issued to the first owners. Completing the history file is a Vespa accessories brochure, the UK V5 registration document, the tool kit still in bubble wrap and both sets of keys, the spare of which is still in the plastic sheath.

The bike has covered a genuine 0.3 miles from new, a distance only accrued from being pushed around, and is being sold as a display piece. Should the next owner wish, KGF Classic Cars will undertake professional commissioning, PDI and first MOT of the bike. An unmissable opportunity to acquire a slice of classic scooter history.

EQUIPMENT
Chrome footboard runners, Piaggio shield badge, chrome rear view mirror, Veglia-Bressel mph/odometer, black leather spare wheel cover, chrome horn cover, light control switch, fuel on/reserve valve, engine kill switch, kick starter.

EXTERIOR
The smallframe Vespa is one of the last of the Vespa designs to be penned by Corradano D’Ascanio, the designer of the first Vespa and this beautiful example is finished in Ivory White. Elegant and outstanding simplicity is enhanced with wonderful chrome enhancements all in fabulous clean condition. The black seat material matches the spare wheel cover and is immaculate. A few minor markings mainly to the foot area will not disappoint those seeking a prime example. The Piaggio logo can be seen in the grips and along with all the badges offer a glorious spectacle of classic scooter nostalgia.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 2-stroke single cylinder fan cooled engine operates with vigour having been bored out to a 130cc displacement. The four-speed direct transmission operates correctly and enables rapid progress.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Vespa 10” polished aluminium cast wheels with matching chrome and Ivory White centres look fabulous and give the scooter a chic appearance. New Continental 3.00 – 10 tubeless tyres are fitted front, rear and spare. Expansion type brakes with flexible control cables operate correctly.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new in the UK on the 14th July 1970 this Vespa has a total of seven former keepers. The most recent of which being a successful Italian restaurant entrepreneur who had memorabilia on display for diners to marvel at while enjoying authentic cuisine. Fortunately, Mr Salerno also enjoyed riding his machines, so numerous invoices are included revealing expenditure to keep the bike road legal.
