All lightweight panels are beautifully straight with only a few miniscule marks carefully touched in and barely worthy of mention. The GT hard top comes complete with genuine Honda stand and bag and has a few light storage marks. The original blue hood is in pristine condition which has the improved heated glass screen as fitted to post 2002 AP1’s. The fastidious owner even resisted folding the tonneau cover as she did not want it to suffer any crease lines and so opted to store in the garage when off the car! In addition, when the car was parked in the garage the catches on the soft top hood were left open so as not to stretch the hood material, such was the care lavished on this example! The HID headlights are clear with no discoloration. Honda supplying main dealer number plates remain fitted. All wheel-arch apertures are spotlessly clean and the underside is representative of the amazing credentials with labels and PDI markings clearly visible. This example is certainly one of the finest available.

Twist the ignition key, then press the start button and the race car ritual begins! The Black sculptured leather sports seats, (Code A), are spotlessly clean with perfect integrity and only slight creasing to the drivers bolster. This car is an ergonomic benchmark governed by function rather than gimmicky looks with almost all of the switchgear within fingertip distance of the steering wheel so the driver does not have to take their hands off the wheel. All digital instrument displays, functions and controls operate seamlessly including the ice-cold climate control and original Honda sound system. Optional Honda S2000 carpet mats remain fitted from new protecting the carpets and the pristine boot area houses all tools.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The compact and lightweight 2.0i VTEC race bred F20C engine, mounted entirely behind the front axle to allow the S2000 to achieve a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution, is a technical marvel. At launch it had the highest specific output ever produced in a naturally aspirated engine, an incredible 120 PS per litre. A power output of 240bhp at an almost unheard of 8300rpm and 208Nm of torque at 7500rpm allows a blistering 0-62 time of 6.2 seconds and top speed 150mph. Factory stickers to the bonnet underside and an immaculate engine bay as well as identification plates, bulkhead chassis stamp and coloured PDI dabs confirm the absolute originality of this amazing example and definitely one for the show goer! The short shift 6-speed gearbox is utterly brilliant and enhances the 9000rpm redline S2000 magic!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory standard 16in sports alloys are in excellent order still retaining the factory diamond cut finish and important slight bronze tint. A few spokes have slight hairline marks and miniscule tarnishing to the original Honda centre caps. Premium brand Bridgestone tyres measuring 205/55 R16 and 225/50 R16 front and rear respectively have masses of tread remaining having been replaced. The space saving spare wheel has never left the boot. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) features massive 300mm ventilated front discs and 282mm solid rear discs to offer positive and assured stopping power to cope with the epic performance.

The beautifully presented history file contains the purchase paperwork from when Mrs Evans bought the car new, part exchanging her previous S2000 in the process, and all corresponding Honda service invoices and maintenance receipts. In addition, there is every MOT certificate from the very first in 2006 all of which were carried out by Bristol Honda, (except one in 2009 by Bristol Jaguar!) and no other garages were entrusted with her pride and joy! The most recent service was in April at Bristol Honda at 21,969 miles. Every tax disc until their demise are neatly mounted. Completing the history file is an original S2000 sales brochure and four sets of keys with fobs including the master key with rubber sheath. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

From just a 2.0 litre powerplant, Honda engineers have developed an incredible 198bhp with the VTEC system engaging at 5400rpm and maximum power output at an awesome 8200rpm! The sophisticated braking system features ABS with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and emergency brake assist and the Type R callipers are clearly visible through the spoke apertures, all very clean.

HISTORY FILE
Manufactured in Swindon, England, this is build number R-09630 and the car was first registered on the 24th October 2007. Supplied as a UK car by Main Dealer, Derek Warwick Honda in Jersey, this example has covered just 19,740 miles in the hands of enthusiast Father and Son owners from new. Mr Haslam Senior purchased the car brand new after being so impressed with his three-year-old 12,000-mile EP3 Civic Type R so offered it as part exchange. A copy of the new vehicle order form confirms the price paid of £18,139 for what would be Mr Haslam’s only new car which he chose in Milano Red because it was the launch colour for the FN2 Type R. Upon retirement he purchased a holiday apartment in Portugal and drove his hot hatch on an extended road trip to his home near Lisbon. Upon arrival he decided to pass the car to his son and daughter-in-law who flew out to Portugal and drove the car back through Spain, France and Belgium. Clearly a family of Honda enthusiasts, the car replaced his daughter-in-laws EP3 Civic Type R and sat in the double garage alongside his sons Honda S2000!

All handbooks, manuals and dealership point of sale literature is included in the leather document wallet and there are two original Honda remote keys with code tags and dealer fob. The original service book displays eight stamped entries from Honda Main Dealers and marque specialists, the most recent being in 2021 with less than 300 miles covered since. A further history folder contains invoices and MOT certificates. Completing the history file is an original Honda Type R range brochure and separate price and options booklet. Credentials of just 19,740 miles and two owners make this preserved example difficult to surpass.

The original Honda wallet holds the vehicle handbooks and a file of invoices and previous MOT certificates further verify the exceptionally low mileage.

After nearly 19 years of ownership and preservation, Mr Williams contacted KGF Classic Cars and a deal was struck to purchase this car directly from its original owner who has kindly produced a letter confirming his ownership of the car and that the difficult decision to sell is born from ordering a brand-new Ford Mustang MACH 1, to go alongside his existing Mustang! Remaining exactly at Honda intended and preserved with exceptionally low mileage, this example must not be missed.

This cherished and factory standard Type R is the highly sought-after GT model having covered just 38,352 miles and is Father and Son owned from new. Finished in one of just four colours available at the time, (Alabaster Silver – Code NH700M), the factory original paintwork is simply stunning. A bright uniform shine to the pin straight bodywork will please even the most zealous scrutineer and the only imperfections worthy of mention are a few minor touched in stone chips and a small scratch just behind the driver door rear edge. The first owner specified a huge list of factory options to include, amongst others, the extensive and seldom specified Gloss Black front and rear bumper skirts and body colour side protectors. All bumpers, spoilers, trim and badges are intact and in excellent condition, as are the light clusters which remain clear with none of the common plastic fatigue. Supplying Honda main dealer number plates and rear screen sticker remain fitted to this awesome unspoilt and low mileage example.

INTERIOR
The brilliant body-hugging Type-R racing Alcantara seats, (Code SMT 8), are in pristine order with firm wear free bolsters and none of the common bobbling to the Alcantara fabric. Huge wings to the front seats, red seat panel inserts and Type R embossment are a less than subtle reminder that this really is no ordinary Civic! The carpets have been protected from new by genuine Tyre R embossed floor mats and the matching door cards are in excellent order. The futuristic fascia and trim are immaculate and all functions, controls and head-up displays are perfect in operation, as is the ice-cold dual climate control. The small plaque on the centre console informs you that the car is build number R-10412. The boot area is pristine and has even been protected by a cargo tray from new! Amazing.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Little introduction is needed for the engineering wonderment that is Honda’s legendary naturally aspirated engines and their phenomenal capabilities, and the chain driven K20Z4 i-VTEC in this FN2 Civic remains in factory standard form. From just a 2.0 litre powerplant, Honda engineers have developed an incredible 198bhp with the VTEC system engaging at 5400rpm and maximum power output at an awesome 8200rpm! A top speed of 146mph along with 0-62mph in just 6.6 seconds is enough to embarrass many a performance car with much larger six-cylinder engines. The engine bay is clean and exactly as Honda intended with all factory stickers and plates intact as well as the bright red cam cover suffering none of the common flaking affecting many examples. The slick 6-speed manual short-throw gearbox allow rapid slingshot gear changes.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Expensive factory optional 19in Rage Design alloy wheels feature diamond cut faces against graphite inner spokes. The wheels are in perfect condition with no markings whatsoever. Matching premium brand Pirelli PZero and recently replaced 225/35 ZR19 tyres are fitted all round. The sophisticated braking system features ABS with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and emergency brake assist and the Type R callipers are clearly visible through the huge spoke apertures, all very clean.

HISTORY FILE
Manufactured in Swindon, England and build number R-10412, the car was first registered on 4th December 2007. Supplied as a UK car by Main Dealer, Holdcroft Honda of Stoke-on-Trent, this example has covered just 38,352 miles from new in the hands of enthusiast Father and Son owners from new. Mr Thompson Senior purchased the car new immediately after his first Type R was taken from him by thieves in a car park robbery. Unperturbed by his short-lived experience with his first car and despite protesting from his family, Mr Thompson defiantly ordered another example and this time ticked virtually every factory option, a true enthusiast! Upon acquiring a company car and wishing not to part with it, the car was retired to weekend usage and in 2016 the car was passed to his son who has owned it since.

All handbooks, manuals and dealership point of sale literature is included in the leather document wallet and there are two original Honda remote keys with code tags and dealer fob. A further history folder contains invoices and MOT certificates and the most recent service was carried out in February 2022 using genuine Honda parts. Completing the history file is an original Honda Type R range brochure. This, low mileage, low owner and unspoilt example will not disappoint.

INTERIOR
Twist the ignition key, then press the start button and the race car ritual begins! The Black sculptured leather sports seats, (Code A), are spotlessly clean with only hairline veins to the driver’s seat outer bolsters. The low seating position is so that the driver has a closer proximity to the chassis which results in an accurate connection with the car, especially when driving hard. This car is an ergonomic benchmark governed by function rather than gimmicky looks with almost all of the switchgear within fingertip distance of the steering wheel so the driver does not have to take their hands off the wheel. The digital instrument pack is circular so that it follows the shape of the wheel’s rim. All controls, switches and buttons function and the aluminium-leather combination gear lever, aluminium foot pedals, beautiful leather wheel and aluminium kick plates all add to the occasion.

Factory stickers to the bonnet underside and immaculate engine bay as well identification plates, bulkhead chassis stamp and coloured PDI dabs confirm the absolute originality of this amazing example. The short shift 6-speed gearbox is utterly brilliant and enhances the 9000rpm redline S2000 magic!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory standard 16in sports alloys are in very order still retaining the factory diamond cut finish and slight bronze tint. A few spokes have marks and brand-new Honda metal centre caps have just been fitted at a cost of £166. Honda recommended Bridgestone S-02 tyres measuring 205/55 R16 and 225/50 R16 front and rear respectively have masses of tread remaining. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) features massive 300mm ventilated front discs and 282mm solid rear discs to offer positive and assured stopping power to cope with the epic performance with new pads having just been fitted to the front.
