The double cradle pipe frame has a hardened black gloss finish with no damage and the frame number is visible. The edge tip to the front mudguard has a small mark. The correct Stanley headlamp remains fitted and all lighting and instrumentation is operational with the headlamp bowl still having the part number stamp. Wonderful in every respect.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
An all alloy 4-stroke single cylinder OHC 2 valve engine of 122cc produces 12hp at 7900rpm and performs with typical Honda precision. The engine casing is very clean with many carefully refurbished components to add to the overall fabulous appearance. The unique upswept muffler has some previous evidence of repairs but is very presentable and much preferred to aftermarket items. Both the engine number stamping and stock VIN match the V5 document and are in the correct range. The 5-speed transmission operates perfectly with a light clutch action and working neutral indicator. Great fun and very useable.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory spoked wheels still display an immaculate mirror chrome finish to the rims and spokes as well as pristine wheel hubs and braking components. Correctly sized 2.75-21 front and 3.50-18 rear tyres are brand new fitment in July 2023. Drum brakes front and rear provide adequate braking.
First registered on the 2nd April 1975, this rare UK bike is one of Honda’s earliest trial bikes and represents a special piece of Honda history. The current custodian purchased the bike in 2007 having owned one some years ago and seeking to re-live his more youthful days! A photograph documented program of restoration has taken place whereby the bike was fully stripped and rebuilt with all components either renewed or carefully and meticulously replated and refurbished.
Lack of use and the itch firmly scratched now means the bike is available for the next lucky custodian who will benefit from the owner’s passion and dedication to restore this bike. The history folder holds a collection of MOT certificates, invoices and a workshop manual. A wonderfully example of this iconic 1970’s street scrambler, a rare survivor with no doubt many a take of youthful mischief!
