Dealer Accessories; Honda tailored floor mats, rear headrest airflow screen, utility net, locking wheel nuts.

EXTERIOR
Finished in probably the most desirable colour, Spa Yellow Pearl, (Code Y52P), the vibrant paintwork boasts an amazing finish and looks simply incredible. Thanks to mainly fair-weather use and polished care, a brilliant shine will please show exhibitionists and all lightweight panels are beautifully straight with only a few miniscule marks and touched in scratches, one to the bonnet. The GT hard top protects the original Black hood in amazing condition with one tiny mark and has a heated glass screen. The HID headlights are clear with no discoloration. Honda main dealer number plates and UK S2000 Owners Club screen sticker remain fitted. All wheel-arch apertures are clean and the underside has a light coating of waxyol to preserve factory originality. This example is worthy of the Honda racing heritage and one of the finest available.

INTERIOR
Twist the ignition key, then press the start button and the race car ritual begins! The Black sculptured leather sports seats, (Code A), are spotlessly clean with only hairline veins to the driver’s seat outer bolsters. The low seating position is so that the driver has a closer proximity to the chassis which results in an accurate connection with the car, especially when driving hard. This car is an ergonomic benchmark governed by function rather than gimmicky looks with almost all of the switchgear within fingertip distance of the steering wheel so the driver does not have to take their hands off the wheel. The digital instrument pack is circular so that it follows the shape of the wheel’s rim. All controls, switches and buttons function and the aluminium-leather combination gear lever, aluminium foot pedals, beautiful leather wheel and aluminium kick plates all add to the occasion. Optional Honda S2000 carpet mats remain fitted from new protecting the carpets and the pristine boot area houses all tools.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The compact and lightweight 2.0i VTEC race bred F20C engine, mounted entirely behind the front axle to allow the S2000 to achieve a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution, is a technical marvel. At launch it had the highest specific output ever produced in a naturally aspirated engine, an incredible 120 PS per litre. A power output of 240bhp at an almost unheard of 8300rpm and 208Nm of torque at 7500rpm allows a blistering 0-62 time of 6.2 seconds and top speed 150mph. Factory stickers to the bonnet underside and immaculate engine bay as well identification plates, bulkhead chassis stamp and coloured PDI dabs confirm the absolute originality of this amazing example. The short shift 6-speed gearbox is utterly brilliant and enhances the 9000rpm redline S2000 magic!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory standard 16in sports alloys are in very order still retaining the factory diamond cut finish and slight bronze tint. A few spokes have marks and brand-new Honda metal centre caps have just been fitted at a cost of £166. Honda recommended Bridgestone S-02 tyres measuring 205/55 R16 and 225/50 R16 front and rear respectively have masses of tread remaining. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) features massive 300mm ventilated front discs and 282mm solid rear discs to offer positive and assured stopping power to cope with the epic performance with new pads having just been fitted to the front.

HISTORY FILE
The Honda S2000 AP1 was manufactured up to 2003 at Honda’s Takanezawa plant, alongside the NSX and this prime UK example was registered new on the 16th July 2002 by Main Dealer, Grantham Honda. The original Honda wallet holds all vehicle handbooks, guides and dealership point of sale literature and there are two sets of keys and an original sales brochure. The service booklet contains 17 stamps entries from Honda Main Dealers and the same independent specialist, the last service having been carried out in late 2020 at 43,760 miles. A collection of invoices and MOT certificates completes the history file. Remaining exactly at Honda intended and preserved with wonderfully low mileage, this pampered example is the ultimate modern classic sports car.

HISTORY FILE
The Honda S2000 AP1 was manufactured up to 2003 at Honda’s Takanezawa plant, alongside the NSX and this prime example was registered new on the 6th January 2003 to Dixon Honda, the main dealer. Sold to Mr Pickersgill, the first of just two private owners, the subsequent Dixon Honda invoice reveals a price paid of £24,295 when the car had covered just 625 miles. Mr Pickersgill was fanatical even filing items such as the tag reminding the dealer that hard rubber spacers are fitted to the suspension to increase ground clearance! He also had the car serviced continually at Honda, as was the case up to 30,179 miles when the second private owner, Mr Little took ownership in 2015. A photo of Mr Little with the previous owner on purchase continues the obsessive upkeep with invoices neatly filed, every MOT certificate, old tax discs chronically mounted and even the stickers that came off the tyres retained! Mr Little would only buy genuine Honda parts, provide them to his trusted garage and wait patiently until all work was complete.

Remaining exactly at Honda intended and preserved with wonderfully low mileage, this pampered example is the ultimate modern classic sports car.

Honda C90-G Cub

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A factory original UK Honda C90-G Cub with an incredible 193 miles from new!

MODEL HISTORY
Introduced in 1958, the Honda Cub/Super Cub has been in continuous manufacture ever since and production surpassed 100 million in 2017 making it the most produced motor vehicle in history. The idea for a new 50cc motorcycle was conceived in 1956 when Honda Motor’s Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa toured Germany and witnessed the popularity of mopeds. The requirement however for the motorcycle to succeed in the developing world was, primarily simplicity, and larger wheels than those of a moped in order to cope with badly surfaced roads, or indeed non-existent roads in rural regions. Another requirement of Takeo Fujisawa was that the bike could be ridden one handed whilst carrying a tray of soba noodles, siting that the vast numbers of soba noodle shops in Japan would no doubt want one as a delivery bike. The iconic and phenomenally successful Honda Cub series is widely credited for mobilising and in large part, revolutionising the developing world.

EQUIPMENT
Pressed steel underbone frame, 12-volt electrics, capacitor discharge ignition (CDI), polyethylene leg guard/cowling, black long seat, 3-speed clutchless transmission, fully enclosed drivetrain, horn, primary coupled kick-starter, black finish indicator housing, two adjustable mirrors, speedometer, odometer, turn signal switch, headlight switch, neutral indicator, rear footrests, helmet lock, side storage with toolkit. Dealer options; Rickman Type 23 Fairing kit, middle mount luggage rack, Oxford Essential top box.

EXTERIOR
This wonderful 1991 C90-G is finished in iconic Shuttle Blue Metallic, (Code PB121), with Cortina White leg protector faring. Having covered just 193 miles from new, this collector’s example has never been restored and still boasts first paint credentials, virtually unheard of. Markings to the front mudguard and a scratch to the lower faring are entirely forgivable and do not spoil the appearance. All metal is in remarkable shape having never been welded or repaired with the original exhaust only having microscopic pitting and the engine casing slight tarnishing. Stanley indicator lenses remain fitted and the polyethylene leg guard/cowling has no cracks. Factory decals below the seat and original stickers and warning labels will further delight originality seekers, as will the factory badges. The comfortable dual seat black seat covering is also factory fitment with no rips or tears and the toolkit is present in the side locker. All switchgear, lights and instruments are fully functional. This unspoilt C90 is deliciously retro and a fitting tribute to this Honda icon.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The air cooled 4-stroke 90cc engine develops 7.5bhp at 7500rpm enough to keep up with modern city traffic and perfect for the daily commute. The 3-speed rotary system transmission with automatic clutch is easy to use and in perfect working order. Surprisingly nippy and a lot of fun!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Steel rim/wire spoke wheels are pristine and display correct outer rim stampings and are shod in Yokohama 2.50-17 tyres. The tyres have excellent tread and should be retained but being original fitment, if regular use is intended should be changed. Leading/trailing drum brakes stop the bike quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
Despite many minor revisions since its launch in 1958, the Honda Cub style and ethos as a bike for the masses has remained constant, and it is no surprise that true iconic status is firmly cemented. This UK supplied C90-G Cub example was registered new on 25th June 1991 by Q.B Motorcycles to Mr J Burford. Being used to the comfort of motor vehicles his experience on his first and only motorcycle was not enjoyed and after a few short commutes the car was soon favoured once more. The bike remained tucked away in his garage for the next 19 years unused before being purchased by bike collector Mr Robin Victor who part exchanged it with Roy Jervis Motor Cycles, renowned for low mileage classic bikes. The previous third owner, Mr Cartledge, purchased it from Roy Jervis in December 2011 and only parted with it to buy a one owner 2001 Harley Davidson 1200C Sportster with 300 miles from KGF Classic Cars!

All handbooks, spare keys and manuals are included along with previous MOT certificates. The original Honda Owners Card and brochure are also present. Everything about these bikes is legendary from their go anywhere ability, phenomenal reliability and even the famously successful marketing slogan, “You meet the nicest people on a Honda”, which ran from 1963 for 12 years and is still used today as a marketing case study. An excellent example of one of the most significant motor vehicles ever created.

A single-minded sports machine and no doubt, the very best example to be offered.

INTERIOR
A driver focused interior has minimal luxuries for superior power to weight ratio witnessed firstly by the lightweight Black Alcantara Recaro seats in pristine condition with absolutely no wear or fade. Due to garage storage and no UV light the seat trim does not have the normal green tinge. Less sound insulation and even the removal of the inside trim for the bootlid and felt from the glovebox found on other Accords was absent in the Type R. The rear seats are unused and a strengthened rear bulkhead means the usual 60/40 split is absent. The Metallic effect dashboard and door trim unique to the Type R is immaculate as is the titanium gear shift knob with no markings. All equipment functions including the optional air conditioning. The carpets have been protected by tailored Type R embossed floor mats supplied by Honda from new which in turn have been protected by rubber floor mats carefully trimmed to fit perfectly. Incredible in all areas.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 2.2 litre DOHC VTEC engine includes detailed engineering refinements to increase airflow at high engine speeds, reduce friction and speed up exhaust gas flow, resulting in an exhilarating 209bhp. When the engine speed reaches a certain point, the VETEC cuts in, the cam profile changes and the results are breathtaking. A top speed of 142mph and 0-62mph in 7.5 secs is quoted. All this in the safe knowledge the car has been maintained exclusively and regularly by the supplying Honda main dealer. The Type-R’s close-ratio gearbox, performance clutch and helical limited slip differential permit rapid acceleration and improve traction out of corners. This car has trigger-like responsiveness.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 17” alloy wheels have never been refurbished and have no scuffs just the minutest of markings from travelling 11,897 miles. The tyres are recommended Bridgestone Potenza 215/45 R17 replaced in 2016 with ample tread and an unused space saver is present. Huge 16” diameter ventilated front discs, 14” rear discs, high friction, anti-fade brake pads, ABS and Electronic Brake distribution gives you the assurance to explore the Type R’s electrifying performance.

HISTORY FILE
Remarkable. Supplied by Honda Marshall of Peterborough on the 1st September 1999 to Mr Charles Ellis the new car brochure reveals his hand written notes and ticks specifying the Accord Type R with manual air conditioning and a Category 1 Alarm along with some other options. His son, Gary Ellis, was instrumental in the purchase and treated his father to the number plate V22TEC when new and still included with the car. Gary was to become the only other and second owner in August 2019 after his father’s passing. The car has been serviced without fail by the supplying Honda dealer a total of 13 times during the 11,897 miles travelled. The last service was carried out in September 2019. All invoices, MOT certificates and documentation has been carefully filed leaving no doubt to the care bestowed on this iconic car. A full book pack and spare keys with Honda key fobs to both are included. The supplying dealer tax disc holder is included complete with expired discs. KGF Classic Cars were honoured to be contacted when Gary made the painful decision to sell the car his only stipulation being to find a good home for this prime example. We made that promise and a lucky new custodian will be absolutely delighted.

From just a 2.0 litre powerplant, Honda engineers have developed an incredible 197bhp with the VTEC system engaging at 5900rpm and increasing thrust up to an awesome 8050rpm! A top speed of 146mph along with 0-62mph in just 6.8 seconds is enough to embarrass many a performance car with much larger capacity engines. The engine bay is clean and exactly as Honda intended with all factory stickers and plates intact even to the underside of the bonnet. The slick 6-speed manual short-throw gearbox allows rapid slingshot gear changes.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Unique 17-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels are in superb order having been refurbished and wear matching branded Avon 205/45 ZR17 tyres to all four corners showing ample tread. Correct large silver grey callipers are clearly visible through the spokes and hint towards the impressive stopping power with advanced features such as ABS and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD).

HISTORY FILE
The design of Honda Type R models is primarily based on racing with emphasis placed on minimising weight and maximising performance potential. Completing the history file is an original Honda Type R range brochure. Pressed steel underbone frame, 12-volt electrics, capacitor discharge ignition (CDI), polyethylene leg guard/cowling, black and white long seat, rear luggage rack, 3-speed clutchless transmission, fully enclosed drivetrain, horn, primary coupled kick-starter, chrome indicator housing, two adjustable mirrors, Nippon Seiki HO-791 speedometer, odometer, turn signal switch, headlight switch, neutral indicator, rear footrests, helmet lock, side storage with toolkit.

EXTERIOR
This wonderful 1984 C70-C is the more desirable ‘round headlight’ model and this example is finished in factory original Monza Red. Having covered just 3,600 miles from new, this remarkable example has never been restored and still boasts first paint credentials, virtually unheard of. A natural aged patina is entirely forgivable and does not spoil the appearance. All metal is in remarkable shape has never been welded or repaired and the polyethylene leg guard/cowling is incredibly well-preserved with no cracks. The front mudguard displays a small thumbnail size repair. Factory decals below the seat and original stickers and warning labels will further delight originality seekers, as will the factory badges, supplying dealer cowling sticker and plastic sheath over the foot brake pedal. The fully intact black and white seat covering is also factory fitment and the original number plate remains fitted. The toolkit is present in the side locker. All switchgear, lights and instruments are fully functional. This unspoilt C70 is deliciously retro and a fitting tribute to this Honda icon.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The frame identification stamping and identity plate are correct for the a 1984 C70-C and match the vehicle documentation, as does the clearly legible engine number stamp. The 71.8cc engine develops 6bhp, enough to propel this machine to 43mph (depending on the rider’s weight!). The exhaust is a replacement piece in superb order and a very good replication of the original item. The clutchless 3-speed ‘all down’ transmission is easy to use and in perfect working order. Surprisingly nippy and a lot of fun!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 36 spoke chromium plated wheel rims are unrestored and display outer rim stampings. 2.50-17 tyres retain excellent tread and good rubber condition. Waterproof-Dustproof brakes with 110mm front and rear drums perform as they should.

HISTORY FILE
Despite many minor revisions since its launch in 1958, the Honda Cub style and ethos as a bike for the masses has remained constant, and it is no surprise that true iconic status is firmly cemented. This UK supplied C70-C example was registered new on 14th March 1984 by Bridge Street Motor Cycles in Witham, Essex and has covered just 3,600 miles from new with just three owners. The original motorcycle service booklet is present with two stamped entries from the supplying dealer. The first issue blue V5 document made out to first owner, Mr Walter Punt, is in the history folder along with some previous MOT certificates and two original Honda keys still with dealer fob attached!

This example boasts originality credentials rarely found as well as being the more desirable round headlight model.

Honda Z50JF Gold Limited Edition

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A collectors 1985 Honda Z50JF Monkey Bike Gold Limited Edition with just 1 mile!

MODEL HISTORY
The Honda Z-Series was a line of mini motorbikes manufactured by Honda Motorcycles. Introduced in 1961 as the Z100, the bikes were originally produced as a children’s ride at the Tama Tech amusement park which was owned by Honda. In 1964 the minibikes, later renamed Z50, were put into mainstream production that was to last for over 50 years until 2017. The initially unofficial nickname of ‘Monkey Bike’ was soon widely accepted and referred to the ‘arms out/hunched over’ stance adopted by riders. The Gold Limited Edition coincided with the 20th anniversary of the original Z100 and featured an extensive special Gold Chrome finish.

EQUIPMENT
Special Gold Chrome plating, backbone frame in high tensile tubular steel, telescopic front shock absorbers, swingarm rear suspension, collapsible handlebars, pressed steel wheels, twin rear view mirrors, gold chrome muffler heatshield, luggage rack, mini storage box, lockable helmet holder, side stand, primary kick start, horn, neutral indicator light, speed warning light, speedometer, odometer.

EXTERIOR
Finished in the factory original Gold Chrome, this Honda Z50 Monkey Bike remained unregistered until 2019 and has covered just 1 mile in its entire lifetime! Recently discovered at the home of an elderly collector, the bike was covered in protective grease when new which has now been removed to reveal the stunning original finish. The teardrop fuel tank is amazing and retains the factory Honda Monkey Limited Edition decal. All other extensive Gold Chrome fitment is undamaged and in superb order with only some faint pitting visible, most notable on the front mudguard. Factory stickers and labels are present and correct and the stock frame number stamping is clearly legible. All trim, lenses, rubbers and plastic fittings are preserved and the foot brake still wears the factory protective plastic sheath! There are even remnants of the protective plastic wrapping on the mirror stalks! The original quilted waffle leatherette seat in brown with gold domed fasteners is perfect. A tiny speedometer with odometer is delightfully simplistic and reads just 1 mile! This is a very special limited-edition Monkey Bike.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The AB27E, air-cooled, 4-stroke OHC single-cylinder displaces 49cc developing a thumping 4.5hp! Starting is effortless with the primary kick start and the engine runs delightfully quiet and functions as it should with fully working manual choke. The engine is spotlessly clean with all stampings and stickers clearly visible. The four speed one down three up manual transmission performs perfectly and is very easy to use. Collectable motorbikes do not get more special than this limited-edition delivery mileage machine.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted four-hole polished chrome wheels are unrestored with very clear manufacture stampings. The original Tractorgrip 3.50-8 tyres still have rubber nobbles but show some cracking due to age. Front and rear drum brakes operate well and bring this lightweight fun bike to a perfectly adequate halt.

HISTORY FILE
Discovered at the home of an elderly gentleman who had purchased the bike new but had never registered it, this unrestored Gold Special Edition has covered just 1 mile from new! Discovered by and purchased in 2017 by Mr David Bradley who at one point owned a collection of around 30 Monkey Bikes including James May’s 2004 example, the bike has now been registered on 14th February 2019. The first MOT was carried out on 3rd March 2019 with no advisories as expected. A letter from Honda UK dated 29th September 2017 confirms the manufacture details drawn from archive records. Information confirmed is the model Honda Z50JF, frame and engine numbers and build date of 2nd March 1985 at the Suzuka factory in Japan. Completing the history file is the DVLA registration documents as well as the V5 certificate, and two original Honda keys are also gold in colour with the spare still in its plastic sheath.

Honda announced in 2017 that the production of the Z50 ‘Monkey Bike’ was to cease, ending a lifespan of over 50 years and making these ever-popular minibikes highly collectable. This beautifully preserved, matching numbers example is the perfect addition to any collection, trendy publicity ornament or super-fun leisure bike.
