SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A preserved UK W115 Mercedes-Benz 200 with just 19,986 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Rigid torsion-resistant safety cell, impact zones, anti-burst locks, laminated safety windscreen, panoramic safety glass, four easy-close doors, chrome bumpers with rubber inserts, parking lights, courtesy lighting, rear centre armrest, oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, lockable glove compartment, cigar lighter.  Factory fitted options; Heated rear window, safety headrests.

EXTERIOR
Finished in original Pastel White, (Code 131 – Pastellweiss), the beautiful paintwork is uniform throughout and boasts a stunning pure bright shine, and all factory panels are pin straight with linear gaps.  All beautifully made trim sections, high quality chrome and lights are preserved and undamaged with only very light pitting to some of the chrome finish.  The large heavy doors close with a wonderfully assuring thud, and original stickers and factory applied wax are still visible in the door apertures.  The dealer raised digit number plates are still fitted.  Having covered just 19,986 miles from new and a feature of one of the world’s most prestigious Mercedes-Benz collections, this exceptional example is without question one of the best in existence.

INTERIOR
The interior of this 200 is incredibly well preserved and a testament to the mere 19,986 miles covered from new.  Upholstered in original Blue Fabric, (Code 062), the seats and matching door cards are in perfect condition with no visible wear.  The hardwearing deep pile carpets are pristine, along with the headlining and all interior trim sections, including the large four spoke steering with somewhat intimidating twin wind-tone horn.  The fascia is perfect and all the gauges, controls and electrics operate exactly as they should.  The boot area is huge with factory rubber mat and tool roll, whilst originality seekers will note the rear light clusters complete with delicate manufacturer stamps and date inscription of 16th June 1975!  An interior representative of a 1975 showroom display car.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The model designation of W114 and W115 refers to the number of engine cylinders, six and four respectively, with this W115 200 example developing 95hp at 5000rpm to achieve a top speed of 99mph.  The engine bay is factory standard with manufacturer stickers, plates and panel stampings well preserved.  The four-speed manual transmission is light and precise yet feels solid and robust, just as you would expect from this era of Mercedes-Benz.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The beautiful classic colour coded 12-hole metal/chrome hubcaps are pristine and shod in matching Continental 175/80 R14 tyres with plenty of tread.  The spare wheel remains shod in the factory Pirelli Cinturato C3 tyre which is unused with coloured banding still visible.  Dual-circuit power-assisted brakes with failure warning light feature discs all round and perform very well.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 18th August 1975 by Mercedes Main Dealer, Callanders Eng Ltd of Aberdeen, this W115 200 is a late production example prior to the launch of its replacement, the W123 Series, in January 1976.  The original service booklet in the history file contains the factory build card along with a full log of the name and address of every owner from new!  There is also a comprehensive log of maintenance including hand written notes, clearly this has been a cherished car.  The Mercedes plastic wallet houses all handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well two original Mercedes keys.  A period sales brochure and neatly presented file of invoices and MOT certificates completes the vehicle history.

In 2017 the car was sold by Mercedes-Benz specialist, Edward Hall Mercedes Ltd, to the famous Graham Dacre collection to where it was last registered.  Appealing to any serious collector or enthusiast wanting one of the most original preserved examples in existence, this W115 200 is simply wonderful.
