SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A delightfully charming and pristine Ford Fiesta Mk2 1.1L with just 40,679 miles.

EQUIPMENT
Wide grey bodyside mouldings, remote control driver’s door mirror, halogen headlamps, anti-burst door locks, storage compartment under rear-floor, two speed plus intermittent wipe, 3-speed fan, soft feel steering wheel, split folding rear seats, tailgate wash/wipe, heated rear window, digital clock, cigar lighter, illuminated interior controls.

EXTERIOR
This wonderfully modest Ford Fiesta L is presented in simply outstanding condition. Finished in the incredibly rare colour of Citrine Yellow (code M5) which was available for the 1986 model year only, the paintwork is truly superb with a brilliant uniform finish and polished shine. Only minor markings can be seen upon very close scrutiny to include a tiny paint bleb to the bonnet and a small blemish to the top of the nearside door, both utterly insignificant. The correct body coloured inner wheel arches remain exactly as Ford intended. The unmolested appeal of this special vehicle is accentuated by standard trim sections, bumpers and wide body-side mouldings, correct and in immaculate order along with original supplying Ford Main Dealer number plates. A truly outstanding example of one of Ford’s best sellers, now seldom seen and certainly not in this colour!

INTERIOR
The interior of this remarkable example is in spotless original condition and exactly as Ford intended. The Fife trim in Grey colour scheme (code OC) is beautifully clean and the common vulnerable areas for wear such as the seat bases and bolsters are undamaged. The colour-keyed velour carpet is truly immaculate and free from wear and the perforated neutral tone headlining is flawless. All switchgear is functional and intact, and the perfect minimalist dashboard with small binnacle creates a surprising feeling of spaciousness. Harking back to a far simpler motoring era with a distinct lack of all but the essentials, this little Fiesta is delightful as it is nostalgic and comes complete with the period Ford smell!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The time proven transverse mounted 1117cc OHV engine with single-venturi carburettor develops a spirited 50bhp at 5000rpm and 83Nm of torque at 2700rpm. In such a lightweight and nimble car, performance while not exhilarating is certainly fun, and the unmistakable Fiesta exhaust note is delightful! The standard specification manual choke and electronic ignition are both present and correct, and operate perfectly. A spotlessly clean engine bay displays factory stickers and plates with stampings prominent. The four speed synchromesh gearbox is light and exact. Simplistic retro motoring with a huge grin factor!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 13” X 5” steel wheels are in pristine order and feature the correct silver ‘L’ specification centre caps. The 135/80 R13 tyres have excellent tread remaining and the spare wheel is housed under the false boot floor alongside the original jack and rear washer bottle. Dual line servo assisted brakes with ventilated 9.4” front discs and 7.0” rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Ford Main Dealers Gilbert Rice Ltd of Sussex and registered new on 31st January 1986, this superb Fiesta has covered just 40,679 miles from new and remains exactly as Ford intended. The original plastic wallet holds the service book, handbook and dealership literature and the history file contains various receipts, invoices and previous MOT certificates.

Recent maintenance to include a service, new clutch, leads and carburettor rebuild installs confidence for the next buyer and all fluids are clean and clear. With excellent parts availability and absolute mechanical simplicity, this beautiful Fiesta represents the ideal starter or budget classic car, likely to draw as much admiration at classic car shows as any supercar!
