EXTERIOR
This elegant and distinguished Jaguar XJ6 Gold Edition is finished in rich Regency Red Pearl Metallic (code CFA/734). The factory original paintwork displays a stunning polished shine and uniform finish. The beautiful and unmistakable lines of the XJ40 are accentuated by the double Gold Edition coachline which catch the eye instantly, and the unique gold grille and rear boot badges all remain in excellent condition. Absolutely corrosion free, the impeccable paintwork has been remarkable well preserved with only a tiny scratch to the nearside front arch and very minimal lacquer lift to the offside A-pillar worthy of mention. All chrome and rubber trim sections are perfect. A spotlessly clean engine compartment completes the appeal of this extraordinary enthusiast owned example. A truly cherished classic Jaguar.
INTERIOR
A sumptuous, luxurious and spotlessly clean interior is trimmed in original Jaguar Magnolia (code AEM) and is complemented by burr walnut veneer on the dashboard, doors and gear knob, all perfect. The protective carpet mats supplied when new are still in place and are wear free, commensurate with an example of such low mileage. The headlining is completely intact and pristine. All the instrumentation and controls function correctly including the cyclic displays. The sculptured supple leather seats are immensely comfortable with electric height and lumber control offering the optimum driving position for all drivers. The factory fitted high power eight speaker Jaguar audio system serenades an otherwise tranquil refined cockpit. Sheer automotive indulgence.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This six cylinder AJ6 all alloy engine displaces 3239cc and produces 216bhp. A top speed of 137mph and 0-60 on 8.6 seconds is effortlessly achieved in a most civilised manner. Maintained to a high standard, the beautifully smooth engine is whisper quiet at all speeds and the four speed automatic transmission is seamless with instant kick-down.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The gleaming diamond turned Kiwi style alloy wheels with the unique gold wheel badges are stunning. Just one tiny scuff and section of lacquer lift to the offside front interrupt an otherwise perfect set. All 225/60 R16 tyres have excellent tread remaining and the space saver spare is shod with original Pirelli item. The ABS braking system with YAW control offers safe, rapid stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 21st March 1994 by Jaguar Main Dealers Colliers of Sutton Coldfield, this low owner example has covered just 30,986 miles from new. The supplying dealer front and rear screen stickers remain in place. The original service booklet displays many stamped entries from both Colliers Jaguar and independent specialists along with every MOT certificate from new to fully support the incredibly low mileage. All the original Jaguar handbooks, service books and manuals are contained in the black leather folder and a collection of invoices and receipts also accompany the history file along with two sets of keys with remote fobs.
Built to mark the end of the XJ40 production before the X300 model was launched, this exemplary Jaguar XJ6 Gold Edition is simply superb and a true credit to its former enthusiast keepers. One for continued preservation and enjoyment.
