SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A fabulous range topping Rover 114GSi with an astonishing 7,748 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Side intrusion beams, body coloured bumper and door mirrors, remote door mirrors, tinted glass, engine immobiliser with passive arming, perimetric anti-theft alarm, laminated windscreen, styled halogen headlamps, courtesy and loadspace lamps, electric front windows, remote central locking, tilting/removable glass sunroof, digital clock, rubber fascia mat, soft feel steering wheel, burr walnut veneer fascia inserts, cigar lighter, glovebox lamp, driver’s airbag, security coded radio cassette (model R660), headlamp adjust.

EXTERIOR
This delightful Rover 114GSi represents the final and much revised incarnation of Austin-Rovers iconic Mini-Metro, a car that played a huge part in upholding the manufacturer’s existence throughout the 1980’s and 90’s.  This presentation of this truly incredible example thoroughly echoes the mere 7,748 miles covered with its factory original paintwork boasting a deep polished shine throughout.  Only very minor imperfections interrupt the impeccable finish to the Hawaiian Blue (code JFK) paintwork, left completely untreated in order to uphold originality.  All factory panels are straight with uniform gaps commensurate with such a low mileage example.  The unmolested appeal of this charming baby Rover is further emphasised with standard trim sections, colour coded bumpers and badges all present, correct and in remarkable order.  Even the supplying dealer number plates, tax disc holder and rear screen sticker remain fitted!  Hugely superior in condition to the usual offerings, one for continued preservation and enjoyment.

INTERIOR
The pristine interior of this remarkable example is in perfect original condition and exactly as Rover intended.  The luxurious Kasmir interior (trim code LOY) is hugely comfortable in the well insulated quiet cabin space.  The matching door cards and soft grey carpeting look and feel every inch of such an astonishingly low mileage example.  Rover trademark burr walnut veneer finishings adorn the perfect fascia and dashboard and all switchgear is fully functional and retains the showroom fresh feel.  The standard security coded radio cassette and the factory fitted remote central locking alarm system remain functional operating seamlessly.  A rare find in a beautiful preserved state.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The lively 1396cc transverse mounted OHC engine produces 75bhp at 5500rpm and 117Nm of torque at 4000rpm enabling a top speed of 103mph and a respectable 0-60 time of just 10.7 seconds.  The engine jumps into life at the first flick of the key and offers a remarkably eager driving experience and more fun than you might expect!  The five speed manual transmission offers light and precise changes throughout the range and a civilised motorway driving manner.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

Five factory original 13” six spoke alloy wheels are perfectly preserved with no markings whatsoever and the correct badged centre caps remain in situe.  The four road wheels and spare fifth alloy are shod in the original Dunlop SP9 155/65 R13 tyres which are in excellent order with plenty of tread remaining.  The original jack and toolkit are complete and housed in the spotless boot floor.  The dual circuit servo assisted brakes with 9.4” front discs and 7.0” rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
This wonderful example was registered new on 26th February 1998 by Rover Main Dealer Central Garages of Torbay as a demonstrator vehicle until being sold to first private keeper Mrs Isabella Shaw on 22nd July 1998.  Mrs Shaw kept the vehicle in very sparing use for over ten years until July 2009 whereby the car has had just two further keepers.  The previous keeper Mr Lovett an avid car collector revelled in the incredible low mileage nature of this example but has now begun to thin out his collection due to advancing years.

The history file consists of many service and maintenance invoices from Central Garage Staplehurst which along with previous MOT certificates support the amazing low mileage of 7,748.  An original Rover 100 Series sales brochure completes the history file.
