EQUIPMENT

EXTERIOR
The lightweight race-inspired RGV250 series offered an exciting 250cc streetbike package with many features and performance developments taken from the Team Suzuki RGV Gamma racebike.  Finished in the original combination of Black Metallic, (Code 6BY), with Purple decals, the paintwork is absolutely factory original and presents well.  Light aging to the finish can be seen and the factory fitted decals are fully intact.  Beautifully preserved, all farings and trim sections are in excellent condition and factory identification plates, stickers and labels remain fitted.  The chassis inscription and stamping on the frame and stock respectively are clearly visible to easily affirm the matching numbers credentials.  A wonderfully unmolested example and a fantastic testament to the Team Suzuki Grand Prix legend.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Based squarely on the RGV Gamma power plant, the two stroke water cooled V-Twin unit was redesigned by Suzuki for the 1993 model year, (Year Code P), with the most notable alteration being 90° to 70° between the cylinders.  The 249cc unit develops a manufacturer quoted 62hp at 11,000rpm, and as expected with a two-stroke racing motorcycle, the narrow power band above 8,000rpm effectively doubles the power delivery characteristics.  The original factory twin pipes have the Suzuki part number stampings clearly visible.  The 6-speed one down five up transmission features a wet multi-plate type clutch and operates effortlessly.  Widely considered at the time to be as close to a racing bike as possible.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Hollow three spoke 17” cast-aluminium wheels are lightweight and rigid and remain in unrestored factory black with quality Bridgestone BT45 110/70 R17 and BT96 150/60 R17 tyres fitted front and rear respectively.  The high performance braking system features enlarged 300mm dual front discs with the correct Tokico callipers and a single 210mm rear disc.

HISTORY FILE
The RGV250 ran from 1987 to 1997, but they were only officially imported into the UK from 1989 (RGV250 K) to 1994 (RGV250 R).  This rare genuine UK (RGV250 P) example was registered new on 20th August 1993 by Suzuki main agents Bridge Motorcycle World to first owner Mr Jason Chandler.  Having covered 15,882 miles prior to being put into dry storage in 2010, this enthusiast owned bike has since been on display and formed part of an impressive motorcycle collection, a 50+ assortment of classic bikes.  The original Suzuki service record with factory build sticker intact has been kept in the history file along with invoices and many MOT certificates from the pre storage period.  The original key and Suzuki fob has been kept.  One of the best unrestored UK examples there is and something for the Suzuki enthusiast or 80’s/90’s sports motorcycle collector to behold.
