SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

Quite possibly the best BMW E30 325i Touring with one owner and 9,896 miles.

EQUIPMENT
Monocoque all-steel body-work, front and rear crumple zones, aerodynamic front spoiler, rear spoiler, rubber side strips, green heat-insulating glass, black satin-chrome, heated rear window wiper, twin halogen headlamps with ellipsoid technology, headlamp wash/wipe, power steering, service interval indicator, central locking, height adjustable seats, fuel consumption gauge, analogue quartz clock, roof mounted check control system, lockable illuminated glove box with rechargeable torch, luggage compartment cover, toolbox and warning triangle.  Factory Options; EH Automatic gearbox, cross spoke alloys, heated mirrors and door locks, electric sunroof.

EXTERIOR
The sporty dynamic styling lines of a BMW E30 Touring emanates a unique flair and especially so when finished in Sterling Silver, (Code 244).  The paint boosts a brilliant deep shine and glossy appearance from a pampered low mileage indoor existence.  Show goers and onlookers will gaze in amazement on how clean this example is.  All the trim, bumper rubbers and lenses are immaculate.  A handful of tiny marks to the bonnet can be seen under close scrutiny and the nearside bumper indicator lens has a hairline fracture.  All glass is original fitment and even the running-in sticker remains on the front screen.   Manufacturer museum quality and quite possibly the best BMW E30 325i Touring.

INTERIOR
The cockpit of this 3 Series is typical BMW design arched in a concave arrangement around the driver offering a whole range of working exemplary functions.  The body contour seats are finished in Anthracite Cloth, (Code 269), and along with the symmetrically contoured rear seats, are unmarked and practically as new in appearance and feel.  Carpeting has been protected by four genuine BMW velour mats and the versatile boot area is pristine.  An unused tool roll, warning triangle and optional first aid kit still wrapped in the clear cellophane wrapper is correctly housed.  Door shuts and bottoms are spotlessly clean and all factory stickers remain in place.  The term ‘time-warp’ on this rare occasion is justified.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Powerful, smooth and synonymous with quality this range topping 6-cylinder in-line engine develops 170bhp from the 2494 cubic capacity.  A claimed top speed of 132mph and 0-60mph in 10.1 seconds are quoted.  The concours circuit will be amazed at the under bonnet originality, the appearance being factory fresh.  If the vehicle is to be put into regular use then recommissioning is advised.  The electronic-hydraulic transmission with three shift programmes, (economy, sports and manual), operates perfectly

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Optional BMW 7JX15 cross-spoke light alloy wheels are unmarked and have never been refurbished.  The tyres are all factory fitted Uniroyal Rallye 205/55 R15,  not cracked and with ample tread.  Four extra-large disc brakes with ABS ensure optimum safety.  It is advised if the vehicle is to put into use that tyres and brakes are replaced as they are original fitment items.

HISTORY FILE
Manufactured in December 1989 and registered on the 16th January 1990 by BMW Main Agents, Hungerford Garages Ltd this car has covered a genuine 9,896 miles from new.  What follows is an explanation from the actual owner:  ‘I bought the BMW 325i Touring in January 1990 for my father to use.  It was bought by my company so it was registered in my name.  He was the Company Secretary.  He used it for two years and then we became aware that he was no longer himself.  In December 1955, he had been the unrestrained front seat passenger in a car accident.  My mother realised at the time that the man who came back from the hospital several weeks later was not the same man who had left for work that morning.  A brain scan in 1995 revealed serious and long-standing brain damage so we hid his car keys.  The car remained unused from that moment.  Only now, more than 10 years after his death, do I feel I can simply let the car go.’  The vehicle is supplied with all keys and supplying dealer key fobs, handbooks and sales literature.  A   factory standard showpiece worthy of the BMW Museum in Munich.
