EXTERIOR
This truly exceptional sporting GLT example has been cherished from new by just one owner who has cosseted the vehicle to a near obsessive standard.  Physical inspection is the only way to really comprehend and appreciate just how incredible a finish the original Bright Red (code 235) paintwork has.  With a mirror polished sheene, only few miniscule stone chips to the bonnet affect the otherwise flawless paintwork.  Absolutely no imperfections exist to the underside or bodywork with the original owner’s valeting schedule extending to regular clearance of drainage channels and polishing of door shuts!  All trims sections, glass, light and badges are simply perfect.  All glass including the sunroof and lamps remain chassis etched from new.  Only extreemely rarely does such a beautifully preserved car come to light, born from the owner’s sheer love and dedication.  Virtually perfect.

INTERIOR
Without wishing to use the narrative loosely, it is fair to say the interior condition is perfect.  As close to a 1995 showroom example as is possible, the original Rococo Plush/Leather upholstery (code 6143) is spotless and displays no wear whatsoever.  The carpeting is pristine having been protected from new by not only the genuine Volvo carpet mats but also the sculptured heavy duty Volvo trays mats!  All equipment and functions operate perfectly including the ice cold optional air conditioning and even the external temperature display on the cassette storage accessory.  The Volvo VC802 cassette receiver and electric aerial remain in place and fully functional.  About as close to a ‘new’ Volvo 440 as is possible!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original 1794cc petrol engine with computer controlled single point fuel injection offers 89bhp at 5800rpm and 140Nm torque at 2500rpm.  This impeccably maintained and low mileage example performs faultlessly and offers near silence at cruising.  The five speed manual gearbox operates well and allows excellent progression up the range.  Beautifully smooth and absolutely capable to compete with modern traffic.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 15in six spoke alloys wheels are flawless with no scuffs or damage whatsoever.  All tyres are factory correct Dunlop SP Sport 185/55 R15 holding masses of tread.  The pristine boot area houses the unused spare wheel shod in the factory Dunlop tyre along with the original jack which has also never been taken out!  The ABS brakes featuring discs all round feel assured and bring the car up to a straight and steady halt.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 13th June 1995 by Volvo Main Dealer Matthams Motors Group Ltd of Chelmsford, this amazing example has enjoyed just one owner and covered a mere 44,290 miles with absolute full Volvo Main Dealer service history.  A new car order form and further sales invoice made out to the only keeper Mr Anthony Lamidey depicts a purchase price of £14,577.43 with a part exchange allowance for Mr Lamidey’s 1986 Volvo 345GL!

The original Volvo A5 felt wallet houses all handbooks, radio guide and point of sale literature along with the service booklet displaying no less than 18 Volvo Main Dealer stamps, the most recent being in June 2015.  Three documented cambelt changes include the latest in June 2013.  Two large Volvo files are thick with every service invoice and receipt since new, beautifully arranged in chronological order.  Furthermore there is every MOT certificate from three years old to fully uphold the very low mileage.  Completing the history file is three sets of keys with two remote fobs and dealer keyring, as well as an original sales brochure, accessory booklet and price list.  A totally original example in unsurpassed condition with an astonishingly comprehensive history file.  The sole owner of this car has preserved it to remain possibly the best in existence, and is a credit to his dedication.
