Finished is stunning Morgan Indigo Blue this hand-built British sports car has a unique character that conjures up bygone days. A fabulous deep shine which has a wonderful reflection and deep gloss finish. Striking at any angle this example has led a pampered garaged life with only a few imperfections barely visible. The headlamp shrouds have very minor cracks and one rear brake lens cowling is chipped. All correct badging is intact and the chrome grille and badge bar have a mirror finish. The full width aluminium bumpers are perfect but the luggage rack has some markings. The matching blue all-weather equipment including the storm cover, tonneau cover, hood and side curtains are as new and beautifully trimmed. The tonneau and storm cover have matching red piping to complement the interior. Beautiful, traditional and superb.
Once in the cockpit the driver is treated to an overwhelming sense of involvement only possible in a traditionally hand-built Morgan. The Mulberry Red leather has been regularly fed and offers a soft luxurious feel. Black carpeting finished with red piping complements the interior and only shows minimal wear. A new walnut dash was fitted in 2007 by Morgan Main Dealers due to cracked dash a cost of £1444.80. Clear instrumentation allows the driver to enjoy the drive and soak in the atmosphere. All switch gear and features such as heater operate perfectly. Wonderful.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Being a 1989 model this Morgan is fitted with the well proven Ford CVH engine fuelled by a single Weber 32/34 carburettor. Producing 96bhp at 6000prm the car feels spirited with a throaty exhaust rasp. Regular Morgan servicing, very low miles and simple mechanics will ensure the new owner can simply drive and enjoy. The 5-speed gearbox with a single dry plate clutch has a unique feel due to the floor pivoted pedals but operates exactly as the manufacturer intended.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Spotless chrome wire wheels with earless spinners are perfect and look stunning. Shod in Uniroyal Rallye 165 R15 tyres combined with progressive and effective hydraulic disc brakes up front and drums at the rear ensure safe predictable handling.
Supplied new in November 1989 after the famous waiting time this Morgan has had only three former keepers. Supplied by Morgan Main Dealers, SGT in Taplow, it has a complete Morgan stamped history. The last being carried out by Melvyn Rutter Ltd at 28,974 miles. A file complete with invoices and old MOT’s verify the very low mileage of just 34,985.
